Thursday, November 16
5:30 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. | Tech Ethics Roundtable
Danforth Tech, Room 104
Much of the recent discourse around data is about the security of our data as individuals. However the risks from data breaches aren’t evenly spread across the population and traditionally disenfranchised populations are more at risk. As an alternative, some people opt out of these systems, while others provide their data. We’ll talk about a range of scenarios from banking to federal and state assistance programs to a South African Covid relief program. Speaker is Katie Panciera ’05 who serves as an Assistant Professor at Milwaukee School of Engineering (MSOE) in the Humanities, Social Sciences, and Communications Department.

Although the method for support may look different – a donation and a walk instead of a bag of food (formerly known as Hunger Hurts Food Drive) – the impact continues to be an essential part of how our community food bank meets the needs of our neighbors.
